Content: With this assignment, we were assigned to make a font specimen book on any font we wanted. As I am a huge fan of the Monopoly games, I decided to focus my specimen book on Neue Kabel, the font of the Monopoly logo. As a constant theme, I tried to make everything revolve around that intense board game, everything from the color scheme, to the titles of each spread. The Neue Kabel typeface maintains the rhythm and proportions of Rudolf Koch’s original Kabel typeface, but adds the consistent design traits and family structure of a 21st century sans serif.
